When APIs become the beating heart of an organization, every improvement in governance, management, and internal processes has an immediate impact on development speed, security, and integration quality. This is the concrete, team-oriented approach behind ApiShare 1.12.0 — a release that reshapes some of the platform’s most strategic areas: subscriptions, administration, system configuration, and user experience personalization.

The promise is clear:

  • Less friction, more control.

  • Less manual work, more intelligent automation.

  • Less inconsistency, more governance.

With this release, ApiShare introduces a set of features designed to enhance the user experience and make the platform even more robust, scalable, and governable. Approval conditions are configurable at tenant level and, when needed, customized for individual APIs, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, preserving a clear and sustainable governance model.

Here’s what’s new in ApiShare 1.12.0.

1. Subscription approval lifecycle: a smoother, more governed process

Subscription management is one of the most sensitive elements in an enterprise API Program’s governance model. On one hand, the underlying process must be efficient enough not to slow down development teams; on the other, it must ensure that access to information is always authorized, traceable, and aligned with corporate policies.

ApiShare 1.12.0 introduces significant enhancements that make it easier to achieve both goals, combining operational speed with structured governance.

The platform now allows administrators to define approval rules that are automatically triggered when subscription request. This mean that internal applications, trusted teams, or already authorized departments can access APIs without manual intervention, reducing waiting times and repetitive administrative tasks.

This automation does not weaken control, it strengthens it. Approval conditions are configurable at tenant level and fully aligned with organizational policies, preserving a clear and sustainable governance model.

An approval process that involves the right roles, at the right time

Not all requests can, or should, be handled automatically.
For this reason, the new release introduces an optional multi-step approval flow, designed for scenarios that require more detailed evaluation.

Two key roles can be involved:

  • Business Owner, responsible for validating the correctness of access to the data exposed by the API.

  • IT Owner, responsible for technical stability and operational aspects, who can validate elements such as security, capacity, or integration compatibility.

ApiShare allows these steps to be activated only when necessary, enabling an approval process that truly adapts to the organization. Approvals therefore become progressive, proportional, and consistent with data sensitivity and the technical impact of the API.

Faster and more transparent access to APIs

The practical impact of this feature is immediate: teams reduce service activation times, administrators free up time previously spent on repetitive tasks, and the platform delivers a smoother experience in which each request follows a clear, traceable path proportional to the API’s risk or sensitivity level.

Subscription automation is not just a functional improvement — it is a step toward a more mature, consistent API governance approach aligned with the real needs of modern organizations.

2. A new user experience for administrative features: clearer, more logical, more usable, and expanded

For those who manage an API platform on a daily basis, the administration area is not just a configuration panel — it is where order, consistency, and reliability across the entire ecosystem are built. With ApiShare 1.12.0, this area has been completely redesigned to become more intuitive, more structured, and more functional.

Navigation redesigned to reduce complexity

The new interface organizes features more linearly, with a content structure that allows users to reach what they need more quickly. Navigation has been simplified to guide users through both recurring and advanced activities, without forcing them to search through redundant sections or unclear categories. The result is a more orderly working environment, allowing administrators to focus on configurations without wasting time on unnecessary navigation.

A more coherent and readable feature structure

One of the main goals of the redesign was to improve readability for intensive users of the Administration area. Features are now grouped according to the way administrators think and work: API management, platform configuration, security controls, and governance elements. This new structure makes the overall model easier to understand and improves accessibility, even for users who are new to ApiShare or who operate across development, security, and operations roles.

Extended administration and configuration capabilities

Administrators can now access a single point from which to manage all tenant-level configurations. With version 1.12.0, administrators can independently configure:

  • tenant information,

  • documentation management,

  • SMTP settings,

  • system properties.

All of this is available directly from the user interface, without needing to search for settings scattered across multiple sections or follow unintuitive paths.

Greater transparency and better alignment across environments

Centralizing configurations provides a clearer view of how the platform is set up and makes it easier to review or update critical elements. This improves alignment across environments, such as development, testing, and production, and reduces inconsistencies that could lead to errors or unexpected behavior.

Simpler maintenance and more readable configurations

Bringing all configurations into a single area helps administrators work with greater confidence. Each setting is easier to locate, understand, and maintain over time, with a direct impact on operational quality and the smooth execution of daily activities. The extended administrative functionalities area therefore represents a step forward toward stronger governance and more streamlined administration, where configurations are clearer, more accessible, and easier to maintain in the long term.

3. Configurable homepage: governed control over widget composition

The homepage is the main entry point to ApiShare’s operational and summary information.
With version 1.12.0, ApiShare introduces an enhancement that strengthens governance over the user experience: the ability to define which roles are allowed to modify the homepage configuration.

Homepage editing is restricted to specific roles

With this release, tenant administrators can decide which roles are granted permission to configure the homepage, controlling the visibility and composition of the available widgets.

Homepage customization is therefore not available to all users.
Only authorized roles can modify the homepage, ensuring that layout and content decisions remain consistent with organizational policies and the defined governance model.

A single configuration shared across all users

Changes made to the homepage are not user-specific.
Any modification performed by authorized roles applies globally, meaning the configured homepage is displayed to all users accessing ApiShare.

This approach allows organizations to:

  • maintain a consistent and aligned user experience,

  • avoid fragmented or unmanaged configurations,

  • ensure that displayed information reflects intentional, governed choices.

Stronger control without losing clarity

Restricting homepage configuration to specific roles reinforces control over the user experience without adding complexity.
The homepage remains a clear, structured, and shared entry point, intentionally designed by those responsible for governing the platform.

This improvement aligns with ApiShare’s broader evolution toward a mature balance between operational flexibility and governance, delivering a solid, coherent, and controlled user experience.
